Sony

Alpha a7, a9, a1 & FX — FTP Transfer Func.

Before you start

  • A Sony Alpha body with FTP Transfer Func. (a7 III/IV, a7R, a9, a1, FX series and newer)
  • A Wi-Fi network or wired LAN with internet access
  • Your Rawback FTP username and a credential password (created on the FTP page)

Sony's mirrorless bodies have a built-in FTP Transfer Function that can push every shot straight to Rawback. Register Rawback once as an FTP server, turn on auto transfer, and you're done.

Faster setup

You can also save these settings from Sony's Transfer & Tagging desktop app to a memory card and import them into the camera — handy when setting up several bodies.

Connect the camera to a network

Go to MENU → Network → Wi-Fi (or Wired LAN) and join a network with internet access. The camera needs to reach the internet, not your computer.

Use the secure option

Keep Secure Protocol on. With it off, your username and password travel unencrypted over the network.
