Z series — Connect to FTP server wizard.

Before you start

A Nikon Z body that supports FTP (Z 8, Z 9, Z 6/7 with network, and similar)
A wired LAN or wireless connection with internet access
Your Rawback FTP username and a credential password (created on the FTP page)

Nikon Z cameras include a Connect to FTP server wizard in the network menu. It walks you through creating a connection profile; Rawback supports Nikon's secure FTPS option.

Wired is most reliable

For studio or tethered work, an Ethernet adapter gives the steadiest uploads, but Wi-Fi works fine on location.

Open Connect to FTP server

In the Network menu, choose Connect to FTP server → Network settings → Create profile → Connection wizard.

Name the profile and set the IP

Give the profile a name like Rawback. For the camera's own IP address, choose Obtain automatically unless your network requires a manual address.

Choose the server type and address

Select FTPS as the server type, then enter the server address and port.

Log in with your credentials

Choose Enter user ID and supply your Rawback username and credential password. For the destination folder, accept the default root.

Confirm the connection

When the camera connects, the profile name turns green. Turn on Send while shooting so each new photo is sent to Rawback automatically.

Prefer FTPS or SFTP

Plain FTP sends your password in the clear. Use FTPS or SFTP whenever your body supports it.

Create a credential and copy your password — it's only shown once.
